
Staff reporter : A criminal case has been filed against Concord Group’s chairman and managing director, along with another official, over the death of a private company executive who was struck by a falling steel bar in Dhaka’s Gulshan.
On Sunday, three days after the incident, police said the investigation is still at an early stage.The victim, 45-year-old Ashfaqur Rahman Chowdhury, was standing on the footpath in front of a building in Gulshan on Thursday afternoon, when a steel bar pierced his head from above.
He was taken to United Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.That night, his father-in-law Sirajul Islam Talukder filed a negligence case with Gulshan Police.He named Concord Group Chairman SM Kamaluddin, Managing Director Shahriar Kamal and Project-in-Charge Al Amin, along with 10–12 unidentified people.
