Election Violence: Cocktail Explodes at Barrister Partho’s Polling Center

Bhola Correspondent : On Thursday, February 12, 2026, during the 13th National Parliamentary Election, a crude bomb (cocktail) exploded at a polling center in Barrister Andaleeve Rahman Partho’s constituency, Bhola-1. The blast occurred at the Alinagar School and College polling center in Bhola Sadar Upazila.

Following the explosion, miscreants reportedly snatched ballot papers, causing voting to be suspended for approximately two and a half hours. While the explosion caused significant panic, there were no immediate reports of major injuries from this specific incident. Security Response: Law enforcement regained control of the center, and voting eventually resumed around 2:00 PM under the supervision of an executive magistrate.

Barrister Andaleeve Rahman Partho, Chairman of the Bangladesh Jatiya Party (BJP), is contesting this seat with the ‘Garur Gari’ (Bullock Cart) symbol as part of the BNP-led alliance. This was one of several reported incidents of violence across the country today, including crude bomb blasts in Gopalganj and clashes in other districts as nearly 127 million voters headed to the polls.
