Shafiq Rahman: Finally, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s grand “magic plan” has been revealed on a Bangladesh Biman flight! After enchanting the people of two nations, including the Prime Ministers of Malaysia and China, Bangladeshi Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has also charmed fellow Bangladeshis on his way back home. The Prime Minister’s travel companions told the Daily  our justice that during a special Bangladesh Biman flight, he won everyone’s hearts by taking selfies with the Bangladeshi passengers on board.
The situation was such that he spent more than 15 minutes taking selfies with the passengers, something no Prime Minister or Head of State has done in the 50 years of the country’s independence. This is how Tarique Rahman’s great “magic plan” was revealed, proving his deep love for the country and its people. His slogan, “Bangladesh First,” truly reflects his wisdom and prudence.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman recently concluded a state visit to Malaysia, during which one memorandum of understanding (MoU) and two agreements were signed between the two countries. Meanwhile, during his visit to China, three investment agreements and 13 MoUs were signed. Notably, discussions and agreements were finalized regarding the exchange of hydrological information on the Brahmaputra River, alongside the much-discussed technical cooperation on water management, flood control, and irrigation systems for the Teesta River.
Earlier, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim released a special video highlighting Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s two-day visit. The background music of the video features the Bangladeshi song ‘Mahajadu’, which recently gained immense popularity through Coke Studio Bangla, performed by Habib Wahid and Mehronigari Rustam of Tajikistan. The song, written by lyricist Khwaja Miah—a disciple of Baul saint Durbin Shah—is a beautiful fusion of the Bengali Baul tradition and Persian poetry. The video was posted on Anwar Ibrahim’s verified Facebook page around 9:00 AM on Tuesday (June 23). Within just five hours of its release, the video garnered over one million views and created a massive buzz on social media.
The 2-minute and 40-second video showcases scenes from the bilateral meetings between the heads of government, the guard of honor, official lunches, cultural programs, and various formal events. The song ‘Amar Bandhu Mahajadu Jaane’ plays throughout the clip, framing key moments shared by both leaders. In one segment, Anwar Ibrahim addresses the Rohingya crisis, stating that both countries will work collaboratively to resolve the refugee crisis affecting Bangladesh and Malaysia.
It is noteworthy that even while he was delivering his speech on the Rohingya issue, the lyric ‘Lagaiya Piritir Duri, Alag Thaki Tane Re’ continued to play, catching the attention of many viewers. Just as the song ‘Mahajadu’ effortlessly crosses boundaries to express love and emotion, the video presents a fresh example of the warmth and growing friendship between the two Prime Ministers.
