Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus has called on voters and political parties to ensure that this week’s parliamentary election opens “a new chapter” for Bangladesh. In a televised address to the nation on Tuesday evening, two days before polling, he urged all sides to place the country’s interests above partisan considerations.Yunus said the interim government would fulfil its responsibilities by handing power to the elected representatives as soon as possible.
“Rest assured, the interim government will complete its duties by transferring power to the winning representatives at the earliest opportunity,” he said.
